St. Joseph’s Youth Committee aim to create and promote events for the youth to inspire them to be active in the life of the parish.
They currently run on the first Sunday of each month a talk after the evening mass, with topics that appeal to the youth and help to educate them in the faith. They also help host Friday night adoration once a month, where the youth lead the faithful in prayers, hymns and reflection. The youth hold an Annual Dinner Dance around the Anzac Day celebration to bring the youth together, and to fund raise for the future youth projects.
The committee also collaborate with the MYDC (Maronite Youth Diocesan Council) and have a representative for the parish on the council. In doing this, the youth of St. Joseph’s parish have an ongoing connection with the other parishes within the diocese, as the representative liaise with and promotes any events that occur within the diocese such as Maronite Sports Day, World Youth Day pilgrimages, Youth Spirituality talks at Beit Maroun, the Annual MYDC Dinner Dance, the Australian Maronite Youth Convention, and other events that occur within each parish.
The Youth also look after the social media for the parish, ensuring that any events are properly promoted on the Youth Facebook and Instagram pages.
